The City Rail Link is a 3.45 km twin-tunnel underground railway being built in central Auckland, expecting to open in 2026. We were tasked by Auckland Transport to ease the public’s confusion about the City Rail Link by clearly conveying its benefits and providing resources to help current and potential users transition smoothly into using the new service as part of their journey?
A campaign to connect the public with personalized information that shows them exactly how CRL is going to impact their lives.
Within this project I created an advertisement and Spotify Ad. Utilizing the platforms that allow us to engage commuters through tailored audio-visual content across their daily touchpoints, ensuring maximum reach and relevance.

The process started with style frames built around Auckland Transport’s brand identity experimenting with gradients, layout, and geometric forms to find the right energy. I then refined these visuals into line-based compositions symbolising rail tracks and key information touchpoints for the audience. The final design captured the music-driven essence of the advert bold, dynamic, and moving in sync with the beat.

Originally, I planned to model all the vehicles myself and began building a car. However, after spending four hours on the first model, I realized the process would take too long. To stay efficient, I used free Blender assets and refined them to match the visual style I wanted using a toon shader node setup to achieve the flat, stylized look.
